Meklējot pārmaiņas, Jana ievācas jaunā dzīvoklī. Dzīvokļa īrnieks Normans Tsui šo vietu rekomendē kā apgaismotu un drošu, tomēr kad pienāk nakts, jaunā sieviete redz Tsui mirušo sievu un bērnu...

Viņa vairs nesaprot ko darīt – ieslēgt sevi slimnīcā? veikt pašnāvību?

Bet pēc kāda laika Janas dzīvē ienāk psihologs Džims Lavs (Leslie Cheung) – darbaholiķis, kurš savu brīvo laiku velta teoriju izstrādei par spokiem un to mitināšanos cilvēku apziņā. Pēc Džima uzskatiem, spoki ir tikai prāta anomālijas rezultāts...

Kad Janas draugs - ārsts Vilsons (Waise Lee) iepazīstina viņu ar Džimu, Džims saprot, ka Jana ir lielisks eksperimentu materiāls, lai pierādītu izvirzītās teorijas.

Viņš aizsāk Janas apziņas ķidāšanu, tomēr, laikam ejot, tiek ierauts psiholoģiskajos tīklos, kuros atklājas paša Džima patiesā būtība...

Bet tomēr, kad doka iekšējā pasaule pārmaterializējās čīkstošā durvja rēgā, tad nu filma kļuva nedaudz piezemēta...
