"Juon - lāsts dzimst tad, kad kāds mirst spēcīgā niknumā vai galējās skumjās. Tie, kas nonāk kontaktā ar šo lāstu mirst pārdabiskā nāvē. Pēc tam lāsts atdzimst un tiek nodots no upura uz upuri nepārtrauktā ķēdē...”

Filma ir par vairākiem stāstiem, kas iesaistīti šajā nepārtrauktajā ķēdē...

Kārena (Sarah Michelle Gellar) ir apmaiņas studente, kura mitinās Tokijā, Japānā. Kā darbinieks, viņa tiek nosūtīta aprūpēt kādu padzīvojušu amerikāņu sievieti, kuras ikdienas aprūpētāja nav ieradusies darbā.

Pēc ilgas meklēšanas, Kārena beidzot atrod māju. Mājas durvis ir atvērtas, viņa dodas iekšā. Mājā ir nekārtība un tā ir šķietami tukša...

Tomēr drīz vien Kārena noskaidro, ka viņas aprūpējamā Emma, guļ kādā no istabām.

Kārena sāk pildīt savus pienākumus līdz izdzird dīvainu skaņu, kas nāk no augšstāva un pamana mazu puiku Tošio...
