Stāsts
Senā Ķīna. Sō Čans (Stephen Chow) ir slinks bagāta ģenerāļa dēls, kas notriec savu laiku izrunājoties un slaistoties. Tomēr viņš ir pietiekami labs cīnītājs.

Kādu dienu, izklaidējoties prieka mājā, Sō iemīl skaisto prostitūtu Ju Sang (Sharla Cheung). Tomēr cīņā par meitenes uzmanību viņam nākas sacensties ar spēcīgo burvi Čui (Norman Chu).

Izrādās, ka Ju Sang vēlas nogalināt Čui, lai atriebtu sava tēva – ubagu ģildes līdera nāvi. Lai kaut kādā veidā atbrīvotos no pastiprinātas Sō uzmanības (un pievērstos plāniem nogalināt Čui), Ju Sang pavēsta jauneklim, ka lai iekarotu viņas sirdi, Sō ir jākļūst par spēcīgāko cīņu mākslu pazinēju visā Ķīnā...

Lai apliecinātu savu neatlaidību Sō nolemj piedalīties Ķīnas cīņu mākslas skolas sacensībās. Fiziskās pārbaudes viņam nav šķērslis, tomēr lai nokārotu teoriju, Sō nākas šmaukties.

Rezultātā viņš tiek pieķerts, un imperators viņam un viņa tēvam liek uz visu mūžu pāriet ubagu kārtā, tajā pat laikā augstos amatos ievirzot ļauno burvi Čui un viņa sekotājus.

Drīz vien Sō ar tēvu saprot, ka ubagu kārtā ir daudzi neatklāti noslēpumi un pārsteigumi...
